São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil, Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007...Contact juggling is a modern performing art, focused on the movement of objects such as balls in permanent contact with the body. Aesthetically, it has little or nothing to do with the normal "toss juggling" techniques and typically involves the rolling of one or more completely transparent balls on the hands and arms to create visual illusions, such as that of a ball fixed in space. It is said that contact juggling evolved after the famous juggler Michael Moschen started developing this new technique in the 1980s. By the year 2000, the discipline had already achieved widespread recognition throughout the performing arts world with many resources and communities available for those interested in learning it.
